Northeast Elementary School is known for its high-quality staff, friendly atmosphere and academic excellence. We also pride ourselves on our cultural and economic diversity – the school includes students from 23 countries -- as well as our highly active and supportive parent community. Northeast is Ithaca's largest elementary school, with 19 mainstream classrooms with approximately 380 students in grades Pre-K through 5. In addition, the building houses two self-contained special education classes with 25 students. The school also houses a deaf education program and ESL program, which served 45 students last year
